Chip and System Designers met at Dresden for DATE 2010

This year March, 1300 people from 39 countries met in Dresden for the DATE 2010, the world’s largest conference for electronics and embedded systems design.

This year, the program committee headed by the Program Chair Wolfgang Müller, C-LAB, selected more than 300 contributions from a record number of 981 submissions.

Speakers from AMD, Intel, IBM, Infineon, TI, TSMC and many others presented their view at the industrial panels. This year major trends were in new simulation and verification technologies, programming and design of multicore systems, energy efficient systems, and 3D stacking technologies.

Introductionary keynotes were given by Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli (UC, Berkeley und Cadence Design Systems, USA) and Hermann Eul (Executive Vice president Infineon Technologies and University of Hannover). The keynote addresses of the special days on Cool Electronic Systems and Nanoelectronics were presented by Mark Horowitz (Stanford University, USA) and Dimitris Antoniadis (MIT, USA).
