Accessibility

Products and services, especially in information and communication technology, are becoming ever more powerful. As a consequence, they have become increasingly complicated for users to manage. People who are unable to use these products and services because of disabilities or age run the risk of being excluded from society or suffering social and financial disadvantages.

Politicians everywhere are exerting great pressure on companies in order to avoid discrimination against elderly and disabled persons.
The German Equal Rights for Disabled Persons Act, supplemented by various federal state laws, as well as several directives from the European Commission and three special laws are already in force in the USA.

Since 2002 German Associations of Disabled People have the option to sign so called agreements of objectives with businesses or associations of businesses respectively.
They include autonomously reached agreements concerning the creation of accessibility conditions, its proportionality, the time frame for implementation, and penalties for non-compliance. The compliance with agreements is enforceable by the Associations of Disabled People.

Against the background of an aging society and the mentioned regulations, it is therefore getting more and more crucial for companies to ensure the accessible design of their products and services.

C-LAB is engaged in all aspects of the topic - ranging from the analysis of the requirements of the affected persons, the planning and implementation of accessible workplaces and solutions, and the accessibility evaluation of products and services up to the consultancy on the implementation of relevant regulations and standards.

In doing so, we support our costumers with a special efficient methodology. Instead of an exclusive use of standard test strategies, our experts - some of them are concerned themselves - jointly evaluate products and services together with other disabled persons.

The experience of many years and the personal involvement ensure highly user-oriented and economic results.
